WESLEY MISSION – EDWARD EAGAR LODGE UPGRADE

Project Details

The Wesley Mission Edward Eagar Lodge provides essential inner-city crisis accommodation in Surry Hills. This specialist homeless service currently offers six floors of rooms for short-term, emergency accommodation, above a heritage-listed1847 church, which was adapted as a homeless shelter in 1978.

The planned refurbishment will make a qualitative change to the level of care delivered by the lodge by increasing the size of the rooms and adding ensuite bathrooms, accessible rooms, an accessible lift, communal areas, meeting rooms, a roof terrace, a second entrance and a public cafe. Construction is expected to commence in early 2020.
