KNOX GRAMMAR SCHOOL – GREAT HALL AND AQUATIC CENTRE

Project Details

Knox Grammar School appointed EPM to spearhead its charge to build a 2,500-seat Multi-Purpose Sports Hall and world-class Indoor Aquatic Centre to coincide with the Commonwealth BER Programme. In January 2009, EPM assembled and led a team of consultants to investigate the feasibility of the project. In March 2009, Knox Grammar School approved the Project, and by June 2009 Knox submitted the very first Development Application under the Nation Building & Jobs Plan State Infrastructure Delivery Act (NSW) that was approved in less than six weeks. EPM competitively tendered and appointed ADCO Constructions in July 2009 and the building was completed by July 2011 and opened by the NSW Governor in August 2011. This landmark building and the fact that the project was delivered in less than two years during a time in which over 100 days were lost to wet weather is a testament to the capability and experience of EPM. EPM particularly recognises the part that Jones Sonter Architects, MDA Australia (Cost Consultants) and ADCO Constructions played in the success of the project, and our close working relationship with Knox Grammar School. The project won the Master Builders Association 2012 award for Private Schools Construction Category $20,000,001 & over.
